Vanity Fair's 2017 Hollywood cover

Photo: Annie Liebovitz/Vanity Fair
The annual Vanity Fair cover featuring the powerful, talented 'wonder women' of Hollywood was released last week and it is GORGEOUS! With recent Oscar nominees Emma Stone (La La Land), Natalie Portman (Jackie) and Ruth Negga (Loving), the cover showcases the current generation of actresses working in the business now. Some of them like sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning have grown up right in front of our eyes. Others like Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams and Janelle Monae have given formidable performances in Queen of Katwe, Arrival and Hidden Figures respectively last year. Also part of the group are Aja Naomi King (The Birth of a Nation), Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Greta Gerwig (20th Century Women).

Right on the heels of the Oscar Class of 2015 photo, comes the annual Vanity Fair Oscar cover featuring the who's who of Hollywood.  This year's cover displays Channing Tatum, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sienna Miller, Miles Teller and Oscar Isaac.  Yes, Vanity Fair has what the Oscar class photo does not: Benedict Cumberbatch! What do you think of this year's It List?

2014 Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue

One of the best things about February is Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood issue where the creme de la creme of Hollywood pose gorgeously on the cover.  It's the 'it' cover of the year and being so close to the Oscar, it's extra prestigious if you are featured on it.  This year in its 20th edition, young Hollywood gets a turn in the spotlight as Brie Larson, Margot Robbie, Lupita Nyong'o, Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan join George Clooney and Julia Roberts as Hollywood's Class of 2014.  The cover was photographed by Annie Leibovitz.

Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue 2012

On the cover: Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Shailene Woodley, Adepero Oduye, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling.
One of the best things about February is the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue also known as the Oscar issue.  To be featured on the cover means you actually made "it", or what whatever that means.  This year's cover features the up and comers of young Hollywood, the young women who feature in the big releases of the past few months and will do so in this new year too.  The cover was photographed by Mario Testino and is a throwback to old Hollywood and glam gowns.

Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue

It's Oscar season which means it's time for Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue.  It's usually quite prestigious to make the cover, the actors and actresses gracing it are the ones being buzzed about.  There are those who make it more than once and those who fade away.  I love the Hollywood Issue; it's so very classy and to be cliched, so very Hollywood.  Let's a look at this year's cover.
