Around the World in Posters: Aloha, Southpaw, Batman v. Superman and more!

Bradley Cooper shows off his pearly whites in these new Aloha posters.

These radical Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice posters feature opposing logos torn into Batman and Superman's portraits.

Closing out the Directors' Fortnight at this year's Cannes Film Festival is Dope starring Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori and Kiersey Clemons.

The beloved French classic by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is adapted for the first time into an animated feature film and will debut out of competition at Cannes this year.

The poster for this year's Sundance darling, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, starring Thomas Mann, Olivia Cooke and Ronald Cyler II.

Jake Gyllenhaal gets real and gritty in the first poster for Southpaw.

Four new character posters land for Tomorrowland. Raffey Cassidy is Athena who we've glimpsed on other posters as well. Britt Robertson plays the curious lead Casey Newton while the final two character posters feature the older (George Clooney) and younger (Thomas Robinson) versions of Frank Walker.

Around the World in Posters: Jurassic World, The Walk, Dil Dhadakne Do

It's been quite a while since we've gone around the world with posters, but with all the summer films gearing up for release, I found some posters that have caught my fancy. Let's have a look.

Jurassic World wants to scare the crap out of us with these enormous, and I mean, enormous dinosaurs inhabiting the park in the latest sequel.

This view from The Walk featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes us over the edge.

Channing Tatum is back to the grind in this poster from Magic Mike XXL.

Melissa McCarthy channels Goldfinger in this new Spy poster.

The Bella Bardens get up close and personal in the Russian poster for Pitch Perfect 2.

The Japanese poster of Tomorrowland shows the past and present coming together in the futuristic city.

And finally, on the heels of its first trailer, Dil Dhadakne Do revealed two new posters featuring the ensemble cast.

Gone Girl: Teaser Evidence Posters

The last time I blogged (3 months ago!) it was about Gone Girl. So it's only fitting that my return post should also be about one of my most long-awaited films of the year.

The David Fincher-directed film has a clever marketing campaign. Ahead of its first trailer release, four different 'evidence' posters have been released online as teasers on popular websites for film news.  The first of which appeared on Huffington Post, the second on Awards Daily, the third on Indiewire and the final and fourth on Hitfix.  Have a look at the intriguing posters below:

If you've read the novel on which the film is based, these posters should make you very happy because this means the film is on the right track.  It has captured the right tone of the book.  It makes me very happy indeed and very much like a student who is sitting for an exam I have actually studied for.  Can't wait for the new trailer to arrive on July 7th.

New Character Posters: Frozen

With less than 50 days to go before the release of Frozen this Thanksgiving (yes, I'm counting), Disney has released these four new character posters featuring the lead characters of the frozen fairytale.

First up, we have sisters Anna (with Snowman Olaf) and Elsa who have a few differences to sort out.

Aiding Anna on her journey are Prince Hans and Kristoff (and his reindeer Sven).

New Divergent Poster: Tris and Four

Two new characters posters for Divergent are out putting the leads Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) front and center with a special focus on their tattoos.  In the book, Tris gets her tattoos when she joins Dauntless. Each tattoo represents a member of her family she's leaving behind, her parents and her brother.  Four aka Tobias's tattoos have a little piece of each of the factions with Dauntless right on top.  What do you think of the new Divergent posters?

Around the World in Posters: X-Men, Saving Mr. Banks, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and more!

I would watch any movie of Rooney Mara's, I find her choice of movie roles fascinating.
Here she is in Ain't Them Bodies Saints.

How do I get myself one of those T-shirts?
Keri Russell plays out the ultimate Jane Austen fantasy in Austenland.

I love this busy comic poster of The To Do List.

Beautiful poster of Saving Mr. Banks with Walt Disney and P.J. Travers
alongside their creations, Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins.

More posters of X-Men, Don Jon, Saving Mr. Banks, Diana and more after the cut!

Around the World in Posters: Gravity, Catching Fire, The Hobbit and more!

Richard Curtis' new love story About Time involves time travel.  I guessed that actually when I saw Rachel McAdams.  Either that or this film is about amnesia!

And the award for the poster most vying for an Oscar nomination goes to... The Butler.

Ari Folman's The Congress looks seriously trippy as is evidenced in this French poster for the film. Can't wait to see this.

I must say this is my favorite new poster artwork in a while for the indie Fruitvale Station that's winning raves wherever it goes.  Beautiful, quiet and poignant.

Around the World in Posters: Monsters University, The Host, Movie 43 and more!

The film adaptation of the popular YA series Beautiful Creatures featuring a solid adult cast of Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson and Viola Davis.  Yes, seriously!

Yet another book adaptation, this time from Twilight's Stephanie Meyer.  It's The Host featuring Saoirse Ronan.

Sulley and Mike as roomies in the new poster for Monsters University.

I really don't see the point of re-releasing every successful movie franchise in 3D.  But Jurassic Park... I can literally feel myself wavering.

Les Miserables poster featuring Cosette (Amanda Seyfried) and Marius (Eddie Redmayne).

And another featuring the colorful duo, the Thenardiers (Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter).

A trio of gorgeous Life of Pi posters detailing a fantastical tale. And who can resist those adorable meerkats? I do believe the one in front is posing for us.

The mother of all star cast films, Movie 43.

Spectacular banner poster for Oz: The Great and Powerful

And finally, my favorite out of the bunch, the Italian poster for Looper. Simple yet so effective.
